A Home of Light, Timber, and Intergenerational Harmony. Duke Garden is a refined study in how light, materiality, and careful spatial planning can respond to the evolving needs of a multi-generational household. With a guiding focus on longevity, warmth, and clarity, this reconfigured residence delivers a layered living experience shaped by daylight, subtle textural contrast, and function-led detail. Responding to the clients’ desire for a timeless family home, the design team restructured the existing layout, transforming a three-bedroom configuration into a four-bedroom plan, adding a helper’s room, and a guest powder room.
Pale oak timber, mineral-based wall finishes, and soft off-white tones form the material core of the project, offering a muted yet tactile palette that mediates between calm and resilience. Rounded wall edges soften transitions between zones, while furniture selections in natural oak maintain a consistent visual language across the interior. Dedicated spaces for children include a bunk bed arrangement to offer future flexibility, while an adjacent nursery — positioned beside the helper’s room — enables seamless caregiving.
