The new Lady-Herkommer Bridge for pedestrians and cyclists is an important urban design element for the future development of Landsberg am Lech. The structure was integrated respectfully and sensitively into the valuable natural environment of the Lech. A minimal, simple, and clear design language highlights the outstanding engineering artistry. Through a central viewing platform on the bridge, which logically results from its design, the new structure becomes a place to stay and gather.
With the Lady-Herkommer Bridge across the Lech, close interdisciplinary collaboration has created a delicate, technically sophisticated pedestrian and cycle bridgeThe design concept combines, through its simple and clear architectural language, the modern planning possibilities of engineering with a respectful and sensitive integration of the structure into the high-quality natural environment of the Lech floodplains. It creates a new connection for sustainable mobility between the old town of Landsberg am Lech and the Katharinen suburb. that serves as a model for a new generation of infrastructure.
