ONTO House, in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, is a short-stay residence immersed in a tropical setting with direct sea access and untouched surroundings. The project features 1and 2 story volumes that segment the program to blend with the habitat. It includes six modules: a service area, seven guest suites across four modules, and a public open space framing ocean views.
Earthy materials and tones harmonize with the context, while rigid masonry frames define the spaces, enhancing the interplay between interior and exterior, maximizing views and privacy. Pigmented exposed concrete structures and local wood rafters support the design, with walls finished in chukum plaster and tropical wood detailing on windows, doors, and beams.
Sustainable features include rainwater harvesting, photovoltaic panels, and 65% green area with native landscaping. Pathways weave through volumes and vegetation. Private areas feature natural light and cross-ventilation, while public zones foster social interaction and leisure.
ONTO House supports the local economy by promoting eco-friendly tourism and offers a relaxing retreat for tourists, families, and social groups in this pristine coastal location.
