This project formed part of the BA in Interior Design 3rd year curriculum at IIE Vega. We were tasked to design to a bar for Veuve Clicquot.

The fictional brief: Veuve Cliquot wants to expand and design a flagship bar in Rivonia, Sandton, South Africa and will work with renowned chefs to create a great taste experience. Customers are very focused on experiences and how they experience spaces, products and brands. The look and feel of our flagship bar should be accessible luxury.

This design is for the proposed Veuve Clicquot champagne bar situated in the affluent suburb of Sandton. The brand’s objective is to attract younger consumers by creating the sense of “accessible luxury”. This is achieved by incorporating luxury materials in a contemporary design. The concept of this design is a metaphorical collision between a comet, a signature symbol for the brand, and a glass of Veuve Clicquot champagne. This is to demonstrate the glass ceiling Madame Clicquot shattered as a woman in her era. The use of “cosmic zonings” relate back to the concept with a shattered glass ceiling, etc.
