The Roadshow Centre is located in the largest open area of the city, adjacent to the lakeshore, with a unique view up to 3km. The building is fully integrated into the landscape, with the exposed volume twisting slightly to form a modest viewing platform for the park side, on the other side, a series of spaces for diverse public waterfront activities. The simple form of the building, with its rough sense of materiality, is seen from afar as if a beast in the lake suddenly leapt out of the water, frozen and integrated into the environment.
Bio TEKTONN ARCHITECTS was founded in Paris, and established a permanent office in Chengdu at the end of 2017.We believe that architecture is the connection between people and places, the context in which life takes place. It’s a systematic reflection on life and nature, a reverence for the environment, an understanding of life, the transmission of the memory of time, and the appropriate use of techniques. We study materials and strive to find how to build in-situ, and we are committed to the pursuit of detail, building spaces that are comfortable and allow stories to happen.
